​Cecilia Concepción Álvarez is a Chicana visual artist whose work centers on cultural identity, feminism, social justice, and environmental awareness. Working primarily in painting and large-scale public art, Álvarez uses bold color, symbolism, and figurative imagery to explore the lived experiences of Chicana and Latina women and to challenge dominant narratives around beauty, power, labor, and worth.

Her work is deeply informed by her bicultural upbringing and her commitment to using art as a tool for dialogue and community engagement. Álvarez often incorporates personal and collective histories, positioning the body and landscape as sites of memory, resistance, and transformation. In addition to her studio practice, she has been actively involved in education and community-based art projects, including murals and collaborative works with youth.
